The Provost is the chief academic officer of the University, responsible
for the general administration of the University academic programs. Included
in these responsibilities are faculty recruitment and evaluation, curriculum development and implementation, student academic affairs, academic research
and planning, and academic budget development and administration. The Provost reports to the President.

Reporting to the Office of the Provost are the Associate Provost, the Deans of five Colleges and Schools and the Executive Director of the School of Leadership and Continuing Studies, the Director of Information Technology and the Director of Institutional Research and Assessment.
 
Dr. Cheryl Johnson-Odim is the Provost.

Dominican University has as its first purpose teaching and learning in the Catholic humanist tradition. This is done in an atmosphere of free inquiry with respect for divergent opinions. It intends to develop in students intellectual vitality, moral alertness, aesthetic sensibilities and a sense of social justice and responsibility. It desires to equip students with the knowledge, arts and skills for the contemporary world and instill in students a life long desire for learning.
