Official paper (hard-copy) transcripts of work completed at and degrees awarded by Dominican University are available through the Office of the Registrar.

Current students have the option of requesting paper transcripts through myDU. Students must be logged into myDU to see the option and cannot have an active Student Accounts hold that prevents sending of transcripts. The request form allows students to indicate the address to which the transcripts should be sent or to indicate that they would like the transcripts held in the Office of the Registrar (Lewis 115) for pick up.

Request a Paper Transcript

Requests for official paper (hard-copy) transcripts that are not submitted through myDU must be submitted in writing with an original signature and contain the following information:
  • Name (including any other names used)
  • ID number (if known)
  • An approximate last date of attendance
  • The specific postal address where the transcripts should be sent
  • Number of copies
  • Signature

The cost for transcripts is $5 per copy for persons not currently attending classes at Dominican University.

Requests can be made in-person, by fax, or through the mail.

The Office of the Registrar cannot honor phone or email requests.

Upon receipt of request, processing of paper transcripts will take 24 - 48 hours.

Dominican University is unable to release transcripts received from other colleges or universities. Transcripts from other institutions must be obtained from the originating institution.

Online Payment Option - Paper Transcripts

You can pay the $5 paper transcript fee, the $20 domestic overnight mail fee, or the $10 rush processing fee online, using either a credit card or electronic check through Cashnet. Please print out and include the payment receipt with your transcript request.

Option for Rush Processing of Paper Transcripts

Students requesting transcripts have the option of paying an additional $10 rush processing fee. This charge applies to both current students who pay no regular transcript fee and former students who pay $5 per transcript. The cost of overnight mail is not covered by the $10 fee.

For students who opt to pay the fee and submit their request by 1:00pm (either in person or by fax), their transcripts will be ready for pick up by 4:00pm that same day or will go out in that day's mail. Students who submit their requests after 1:00pm can pick up their transcripts by 10:00am the next business day (click here to see the list of university holidays).

It is the responsibility of the student to verify with Student Accounts to determine that there are no holds on the student's account that prevent processing of transcripts; payment of the fee does not override an account hold.

The Rush Processing option is not available:
  • to current students who submit transcript requests through myDU
  • in the week prior to the start of the fall or spring semester, the first week of fall or spring semester, or the advanced registration period in late March.

Electronic Transcript Option

Dominican University and Scrip-Safe International have partnered to provide Dominican University students and alumni* the option of sending their transcripts in electronic format as PDF documents. This is a “green initiative’ that offers the fastest delivery time, is totally secure, and allows for tracking of delivery and receipt.

  • Network Delivery- Many colleges, universities and other agencies are members of the Scrip-Safe secure network and actively receive electronic transcripts. Please check network recipients to see if your intended destination is a network member.
  • One-Time Delivery- If your intended recipient is not a network member, your transcript can still be delivered electronically (including sending a transcript to yourself). Receivers are designated and identified by email address that you provide when you place the order.
    • Your transcript is never delivered by email; instead the recipient is notified by email that a transcript is available for pickup at the specific “one-time” URL identified in the email.
    • To insure prompt delivery and receipt, make sure the recipient knows that you are sending them an electronic transcript and that the recipient will accept the electronic version.
    • Finally, ask the receiver to white list @escrip-safe.com

Requests for electronic transcripts are processed through Scrip-Safe's Transcripts on Demand (see links below); this process is completely secure.

  • All students--both current and former students--are charged $5 for each electronic transcript ordered ($2 transcript fee and $3 processing fee charged by SCRIP-SAFE).
  • Payments are made via credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover). The most current security available is used to protect your credit card and personal information.
  • You can check the status of your transcript request at any time by logging on to Transcripts on Demand and selecting the “Review Past Orders” tab. You will also receive email notifications of your order status.

* Students who whose academic record begins prior to the fall of 1985 cannot use the electronic transcript option
