Degree Completion Agreements for the School of Professional & Continuing Studies

Dominican University has established degree completion agreements with local community colleges to insure a smoother transferability of credits, as well as help transfer students enroll more easily in the School of Professional and Continuing Studies (SPCS). Students are urged to apply for admission to the SPCS upon earning a minimum of 30 semester hours in their accelerated associate degree program. Students must also meet all admission, matriculation, and degree requirements designated by the SPCS in order to qualify for the terms of the degree completion program.

In most cases, transfer students who participate in these programs officially enter Dominican University upon completion of between 60 to 68 semester hours of the associate’s degree. The SPCS waives specific requirements for these students based on the predetermined agreement. Some of these courses may vary among community colleges. By participating in a degree completion agreement, students will receive the assurance that the time and energy they’ve committed to earning an (accelerated) associate’s degree will be recognized by the SPCS.
