SUMMER 2024 TUITION BILLING & PAYMENT PLANS

Tuition, fees, room and board (if applicable) have been billed to Summer 2024 enrolled students in preliminary mode. Tuition statements, in real-time, are available for review on myDU.  Financial Aid amounts (scholarships, grants and loans) are shown in preliminary mode and are posted in real-time.

In addition to seeing your real-time tuition statements on myDU, eBills (static tuition statements) will continually be published to your myDU account throughout the semester. An email may be sent to your Dominican University's email address informing you that your eBill for the Summer 2024 term has been published. At this time, you should review the bill and make a payment, or set up a payment plan if you have not done so.

Tuition is due in full by the first day of classes each semester. If you are unable to pay in full, you should enroll in the monthly payment plan.  The payment plan allows you to pay your bill over-time, with no interest. If needed, you can contact the Financial Aid Office to ask about additional loan options.

Payment Plans**: The Summer 2024 payment plan starts on May 10, 2024, and runs through July 10, 2024.  The payment plan fee is $45 per semester. To enroll, you will log into myDU, go to Students, My Student Account, Online Payment Center.  On the Online Payment Center page, you will see a link for the Summer 2024 Payment Plan on the right-hand side of the page. You must enroll (or re-enroll) in the payment plan each semester, as it stops at the end of a term.  Enrollment is done online through myDU.

**Future Payment Plan dates:

  • Payment Plans starting Spring 2025 term will be offered January 10 through April 10
  • Summer 2025 payment plans will be offered May 10 through July 10, 2025
  • Fall 2025 payment plans will be offered August 10 through November 10, 2025

If you drop a course or stop attending classes, you must officially drop the course in order for your tuition charges to be adjusted; see the Tuition Refund Schedule (link to the left).

Student Accounts Holds:  Whether you are a current or non-current student at Dominican University, our offices will work with you to resolve an outstanding tuition balance. A Student Account Hold may be placed on accounts that have an outstanding tuition balance or have not enrolled in a valid payment plan.  Resolving your tuition balance is necessary in order to register in future classes at DU. Enrolling in a valid payment plan and paying accordingly, satisfies resolution to your outstanding balance, and no hold will be placed. The Student Account Hold will be removed once the account has been resolved.

Third-Party Reimbursements: If you have an employer reimbursement or any other third-party reimbursement for the semester, you must provide this information right away to the Business Office or to Stars Connect each semester.  This will allow for a special Stay to be placed on your account, and for you to avoid finance fees. Please act quickly to resolve your tuition account once the third-party reimbursement's requirement has been met.

To pay On-line:  Current students can log into myDU using a network username and password to make a tuition payment.  Once logged in, go to Students , My Student Account and the Online Payment Center.  Make a payment using any major credit card, for example: MasterCard, Discover, Visa or American Express.  There is a 2% convenience fee for credit card payments. A payment can also be made by eCheck (using your bank account information), for which there is no fee.

To pay in person: Students can pay using cash, check, or money order in the Stars Connect Office, Lewis Hall, Room 115.

To pay by mail: Make checks or money orders payable to Dominican University, and mailed to:

          7900 Division Street,

Refund Process

Your refund from Federal Title IV funds (Subsidized & Unsubsidized Direct Loans, Federal UG Parent Plus Loans**, Federal Pell & Federal SEOG grants) will be processed within 14 days of receipt to Dominican.  We will not process a refund for balances less than $200.00, unless requested by the student.

Students will receive refunds if there is a credit on your account (scholarships/grants or loans exceed tuition costs and fees). These are processed regularly throughout the semester.  Students can request that the credit remain on their tuition account, in which case, DU will not refund the account.

Your refund will be sent to you by the following methods:

  • eRefund:  electronic refund directly into your personal bank account, but you must sign up for it (see instructions below); or
  • Echeck:  if you are not enrolled in eRefund, an Echeck will be processed for you. The Echeck is emailed directly to your DU email address;  you must download to print the Echeck, and deposit it with your personal bank account.
  • Paper check: Paper checks will be paid to parents when there is a parent refund.  The paper checks will be mailed to the student's home address on file

eRefunds are our preferred method and will be processed on a weekly basis.  If you have not done so, you will need to sign up for eRefunds within mydu with our 3rd party vendor Transact/Cashnet.  When signing up, you will provide your personal bank account and routing number onto a secure website.  Once signed up, any refunds that are due to the student will be process as a eRefund, and will continue unless the student removes/changes his/her bank account information, or the student's bank rejects the payment.

Echecks is our next option for students who have not signed up for eRefunds. This will be processed on a weekly basis. Echecks save mailing time and are safely sent to your DU email address. You will receive an email that an Echeck was processed for you.  Separately, our vendor, Paymerang, will send you an email notifying that a check is attached to the email, with instructions for you to download and print the check.  You will deposit or cash the eCheck, as you would any other paper check.

Paper checks are used for other than student refunds. These are likely refunds to parents for over-disbursement of a parent loan. These are paid on Wednesdays, and are mailed to the student's home address on file.

Federal Plus Loans: Refunds will be processed to the student unless the credit is the result of a Federal UG Parent Plus Loan. In this case the refund, by paper check, will be processed and mailed to the parent who secured the loan.  If the parent would like the refund processed by eRefund they will need to contact the Student Accounts office at bursar@dom.edu.

How to Sign up for eRefund

Log into MyDU with your network user name and password, go to the Student Tab, My Student Account and Go to the Online Payment Center.  There you will find a link on the left side labeled eRefund Sign up and Processing . You will be asked to enter your banking information, which includes the routing number from your bank and your checking or savings account number.  Once you are enrolled we can process your eRefund when it becomes available.

The alternative to eRefund is an Echeck, which is an electronic check that is sent to your email address.  An Echeck saves processing and delivery time and secures the payment arrives to the student.

Finance Charge (1%)

Students enrolled in Payment Plan are expected to follow the payment schedule provided for them by the Online Payment Center.  If a payment is not made on time, a 1% finance charge will be charged to the tuition account.  This fee will be charged once a month, as long as there is an outstanding monthly balance.  Students who have NOT enrolled in a payment plan and have not paid their tuition in full by the first day of class, will first receive the deferment fee of $90.00. If payments are still not timely, student accounts will be charged a 1% finance charge which will be assessed each month. This fee will be charged monthly until the balance is resolved.

Semester Deferment Fee

The Student Accounts Office of the Business Office reviews tuition accounts after the add/drop date each semester. If a tuition balance exist and there is no enrollment in a payment plan, the student's tuition account will be charged a $90 deferment fee for the academic semester (once in September and once in January). If a balance still exists and there is no enrollment in a payment plan and/or payment plan amounts are past due, a 1% finance charge will be charged on the outstanding tuition balance or on the past-due payment plan amount each month starting in October and in February. Also, a Student Accounts (SA) Hold will be placed on the account.  The SA Hold will prevent future registrations. Tuition balances will need to be resolved before the Student Accounts Hold can be removed.

Graduation Policy

Dominican University encourages all students to participate in their graduation ceremony. Although students are allowed to participate in their graduation ceremony with an outstanding tuition balance, diplomas and official transcripts may be withheld until all balances are paid in full. Students should make payments to clear their balances as soon as possible. Payments can be accepted by check, cashier's check, money order, or cash [pay cash directly to the Stars Connect Office (Lewis Hall 1st floor)]. Students may also pay electronically, on-line, through the Online Payment Center with ACH or any major credit card.

Any tuition balance related questions or concerns should be addressed to bursar@dom.eduknoel@dom.edu or ddumas@dom.edu
